The VSR W.A.S.P works with a variety of brands including Tokyo Marui, Maple Leaf, Action Army, Laylax and some clone rifles. There is also a the SSG10 version, which won’t work in normal TM spec cylinders and is specifically for the SSG10 rifles.

As with any new part, it’s performance will vary entirely on your personal setup and parts list. As this is a heavyweight piston it’s designed for heavy ammo and should be put through the chronograph on the ammo you’ll be using.

The WASP package features:

  • 1 x VSR W.A.S.P Base Piston body
  • 1 x Rear Sear
  • 1 x Rear Guide Ring
  • 1 x Front Guide Ring
  • 1 x Plastic Sleeve (Light)
  • 1 x Steel Sleeve (Medium)
  • 1 x Steel Sleeve (Heavy)
  • 1 x Non-Airbrake Fitting
  • 1 x Full Airbrake
  • 1 x Mid Brake
  • 1 x Injection Moulded Cup
  • 1 x One Piece Stainless Steel Spring Guide

PLEASE NOTE:

  • When using the weighted set up, DO NOT dry fire the rifle. This may cause eventual damage and is the responsibility of the customer.
  • Use grease on the spring guide and silicon oil on the cup.
  • VSR version is for normal TM spec cylinders (ML, AA, Laylax etc)
  • SSG10 version is specifically for SSG10 cylinders, may also fit PDI due to similar small ID.

This piston is not for people who aren’t prepared to tech, a variety of brands work in terms of springs, however due to varying spring compression lengths, some springs may not catch depending on your trigger unit and will need a coil removed.

Springs confirmed to work:

  • Modify 13mm
  • Novritsch 13mm
  • Rapax 13mm
  • PDI 13mm

Notes:

When using the airbrake, please bear in mind this is only effective up to a certain point in terms of power gains over the non airbraked setup. This is due to how the air works inside the cylinder, at a certain point the sheer power of the spring and piston result override the airbrakes function and slow to air down to much causing a loss. This “break point” will depend entirely on your setup. That being said, due to the guide ring and cup design alone, even at 4.5J, weighted and unbraked the sound is still reasonable.
